When i launch bf2, the splash screen launches, then i get a black screen, then the game crashes to desktop. you see when you start a game and start loading a map blackscreen.exe run for a few seconds and change the game. but when the game is running you can change to any screen resolution thats supported by your screen. the bf1942 main menu can only run on 800 x 600 resolution so you need have that resolution on your screen.

By the way I have currently connected two screens both running with I deleted the whole Battlefield 2 folder in the Documents. I changed the resolution and the Hz to my screen settings. I already reinstalled Battlefield 2 three times.

Back then when I had this issue I fixed it by turning off the overlay and it also worked for many others, but I don't know any other solutions other than that, as I am not interested in this. Edit: I don't know if you don't have Discord installed on your computer, or don't use the overlay.
